Sign up for a No-Cost Seminar May 10, or Learn Story from a Screenwriting Coach
This week I have a couple of no-cost web seminars you can attend, including an overview of the Beyond Bullet Points approach and a session with a screenwriting coach. Also, the LA Times and the Chicago Tribune recently ran a major feature article on the BBP approach, and there's a new version of the book in the works that is slated for release in early 2007.

Join me for a complimentary web seminar May 10: Beyond Bullet Points Overview
mic

If you missed my introductory web seminar last year titled "Transform your PowerPoint Beyond Bullet Points," I'll be presenting the session again at 9am PT on May 10 in association with Microsoft Office Work Essentials and the International Association of Administrative Professionals. The seminar covers the basics of the BBP approach and there's no cost to attend, but you have to register first by clicking on the Register link in the left-hand column of this page >

LA Times and Chicago Tribune run a major feature story on the BBP approach

If you're trying to persuade other people to use the Beyond Bullet Points approach, try sharing the feature article that ran on the front page of the business section of the Los Angeles Times April 19, and was reprinted in the Chicago Tribune. Titled "Making a (Power)Point of Not Being Tiresome," it catapulted the BBP book to #4 at Amazon for a week! Read the article here>

Learn how to structure a visual story from a Hollywood screenwriting coach May 11

Interested in learning how Hollywood screenwriting secrets can help you to structure and refine your own visual stories? I'll be interviewing screenwriting coach Jim Bonnet for an hour beginning at 11am PT on May 11. If you miss it, I'll record the session to include in the new membership website that launches this summer. There's no charge for the session, but it's limited to the first 12 people who commit to join us - if you're interested, drop me a line here, and I'll send an email on May 10 with meeting details about how to join the session.

Microsoft Press to publish an updated version of the BBP book in early 2007

Good news for those of you who have enjoyed BBP. Microsoft Press will publish an updated version of my book to coincide with the release of Microsoft Office 2007 early next year. The book will carry the same title, and will include instructions on using BBP with the new version of PowerPoint. I can also add up to 100 pages of new material, and will create a bonus CD with downloads. If there are things you'd like to see in the new book, add your comments here>

BBP strikes again in a high-profile civil trial with a "Desperate Executives" theme

It may not be news that PowerPoint is becoming more common in courtrooms today, but it is news when someone uses it exceptionally well. Attorney W. Mark Lanier presented his closing arguments recently in a Vioxx trial in New Jersey, and the presentation generated extensive coverage by the Associated Press, New York Times, Reuters and the Wall Street Journal. Could it be that the BBP approach was involved? Read my blog post to find out here>

Beta tester update: New site scheduled to be ready for testing in June 2006

As you may have guessed from the LA Times article, my involvement with the Vioxx trial and my speaking schedule, my dance card has been pretty full the past couple of months. That has delayed the new membership website a bit, but if you volunteered to be a beta tester, you should hear from me by the end of June. In the meantime, if there are things you'd like me to include in the site to help you with your BBP presentations, please let me know in a discussion area here>
